Final Day of Irish Film Festa 2018

Rome's IRISH FILM FESTA is dedicated entirely to Irish cinema.

25 March. The final day of the 11th edition of the Irish Film Festa begins at 16.00 on Sunday 25 March with Song of Granite by Pat Collins: a highly original reinterpretation of the biopic genre centred on Irish singer Joe Heaney (1919-1984). The film, introduced by Kay McCarthy, will be preceded by the short Native.
At 18.30 the programme continues with My Astonishing Self: Gabriel Byrne on George Bernard Shaw  – introduced by Joanna Fallon, Università Roma Tre, followed by Q&A with the documentary's director Gerry Hoban.
At 20.30 guests can look forward to the IFF Shorts Awards – Winning Short Films. The announcement will be followed by the festival's closing film: No Party for Billy Burns (2016, P. Conaty) 86'. Director Padraig Conaty will attend.
