20 June-20 Aug 2005. The wildly popular event celebrates ten years of activity and becomes even more articulate. The programme is divided in three with a section dedicated to rock and pop music, featuring a concert space that can host 24,000 people; then there is the "Festival Latino Americano," dedicated to Latin American music and culture; and a section called "Frigo" featuring emerging artists, djset, readings and exhibitions. The rock and pop section does include a number of big names like Tori Amos (7 July), Joss Stone (15 July), Jamiroquai (18 July), Morcheeba (19 July), Anastacia (26 July) and tickets are relatively cheap. But the heart of the festival is Latin American with an explosion of dance floors and salsa groups, as well as a rich programme of concerts for the joy of the citys many salsa fans. Its worth a visit if you can stand the crush.
