10 June-29 July 2005. At its 41st edition, this top-class contemporary and chamber music festival celebrates Aldo Clementis 80th and Luis de Pablos 75th birthdays. As always concerts, recitals and round tables take place at Sermonetas Castello Caetani and at the Fossanova Abbey in Priverno, and this year also at Lenola, Sperlonga and Fondi. A special treat for music and garden lovers happens on 1 July with a piano duo by Charles Rosen and Roberto Prosseda in the wonderful gardens of the Parco di Ninfa. Although the focus is on contemporary music, there is an ample space dedicated to Mendelssohn, recitals and concerts dedicated entirely to Bach and Chopin and even some tango and Irish music. The festival ends with a tribute to chamber music with a violin and piano recital by Lorenza Borrani and Matteo Fossi playing music by Mozart, Hindemith and Schumann.
