Its already the time of the year when the choice of entertainment in Rome is so vast and so enticing that one may have to choose between a concert and a ballet, a rock event and an opera. So take advantage of the balmy nights, keep an eye on the daily press and on street posters, because the popular Estate Romana has something for everyone, whether it be salsa at the racecourse, cinema under the stars, or Aida at the Baths of Caracalla. The festival kicks off on 28 June with a free concert conducted by TV star Renzo Arbore and his Orchestra Italiana in Piazza del Popolo. It ends on 17 Sept with what has become the wildly successful White Night during which museums, galleries and other cultural spaces open their doors free of charge during a very special night rich with concerts, performances of every kind, fireworks and life.
