The season kicks off with the world-famous Settimana Musicale Senese, a top-class music festival organised by the exclusive Accademia Musicale Chigiana in some of Sienas most beautiful venues. However, the concerts that follow, many of which take place in some of the most beautiful venues of the area, such as the abbeys of S. Antimo, Monte Oliveto and S. Galgano, are equally valid and boast the presence of great musicians such as Maurizio Pollini, Salvatore Accardo, Bruno Giuranna, Christophe Ruouseet, David Geringas to name a few.
