It was while she was directing Titus Andronicus for the Royal Shakespeare Company that stage director Deborah Warner began her long-time collaboration with the Irish actress, Fiona Shaw. In Readings Warner and Shaw present a kind of emotional theatre, revitalising and giving new life to extraordinary poetic texts, renewing and bringing up to date the rooted tradition of public poetic lectures in England between 1950-1960, with an original sound project, wise lighting and video sets.
