18 Oct 2004-15 Jan 2005. Rarely shown in public, the Taschen Collection is an extremely important European collection of mainly American and German art from the 1980s and 1990s. Around 120 works by esteemed artists including Jeff Koons, Martn Kippenberger, Thomas Struth, Mike Kelley, Cindy Sherman, and Albert Oehlen among others have been selected for this exhibition. The collector Benedikt Taschen began seriously assembling his personal collection in 1985 by concentrating on a small number of artists. This focus highlights the development of a select band of artists over two decades and offers an opportunity to explore the scope and vision of their work in greater depth. The collection is on view at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofa, Wed-Mon from 10.00 to 21.00, to 14.30 on Sundays. Entry costs 3 and there are 50% discounts for students.
