Based on the highly acclaimed worldwide hit British movie, Billy Elliot the Musical is the latest in a series of successful film-to-stage adaptations to come to Londons West End. The same award winning team behind the movie, writer Lee Hall, director Stephen Daldry and choreographer Peter Darling, are behind the musical, complete with a new score composed by pop icon Elton John. Billy Elliot is the touching feel-good story of a young boys dream to excel in an art form a million miles from his tough northern-English background. A worldwide smash at the box office and receiver of numerous Oscar and Bafta nominations the film was the big hit of 2000, and the musical could be the West End hit of 2005. There is some strong language present, as in the film, therefore, the producers recommend an age limit of 8 years old. Tickets cost from 17.50 to 50.
