27 Oct 2006. Conducted by Fabrizio Maria Carminati, with Dimitra Theodossiou.
After the resounding success she enjoyed a month ago with Roberto Devereux by Donizetti, Dimitra Theodossiou returns again to Bergamo with Anna Bolena, also by Donizetti (27 Oct). She is a singer with a strong temperament and a vigorous, unconstrained vocalisation who does not shirk from the most difficult works. And Anna Bolena is one of these, as well as being a "dangerous" opera because it was sung by Maria Callas, who created the ultimate character of reference, against whom anyone who interprets Henry VIIIs second wife must compete. The other recital of Anna Bolena in the programme will be sung by Mara Lanfranchi (29 Oct). Paolo Di Nicola
