Alberto Giacometti Henri Cartier-Bresson.

13 Jan-26 March 2005. The artists Alberto Giacometti and Henri Cartier-Bresson maintained a strong and long-lasting friendship which resulted in impressive artistic exchanges between the two men. This exhibition, sub-titled Une communaut de regards (A Community of Admiration) aims to shed light on the friendship. It is structured along four main themes: surrealism, portraits/self-portraits, sketches of Paris and photographs of Giacometti by Cartier-Bresson. The exhibition was put together by the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation with the intention of paying tribute to the two artists talents while highlighting the artistic harmony between them. The exhibition manages to reproduce a measure of the curiosity they both had for their surroundings, their common concerns and their shared vision.
