Air passengers in Italy have a potentially difficult month ahead with a series of planned strikes within the sector. According to the transport ministry, on 24 June air traffic controllers will be out on strike for four hours, 12.30-16.30, while on 7 July it will be the turn of ground staff and flight attendants (all day). Air traffic controllers will stage another four-hour protest on 18 July, 12.00-16.00, before the usual summer "truce" takes effect. Public transport workers in Rome have also announced a strike for part of 20 June; see local press for details.
