New anti-smog measures in Rome

Vehicle restrictions and car-free Sundays in effort to improve air quality.
Rome has restricted the most polluting vehicles from circulating on weekdays within the city's anello ferrovario, the railway ring around the capital, from 20 November until 31 October 2018.
The city has also announced a new round of domeniche ecologiche during which traffic will be restricted from the fascia verde (green belt) as part of measures to curb air pollution.
The first traffic-free Sunday is scheduled for 19 November, followed by 17 December, 21 January and 11 February, from 07.30-12.30 and from 16.30-20.30. For full details, including exemptions, see city website.
