National train strike hits Rome

Rome commuters affected by national train strike.

A national train strike is scheduled in Italy from 21.00 on Thursday 26 November until 18.00 on Friday 27 November.

Trains are guaranteed on 26 November if they leave before 21.00 and arrive at their destination by 22.00. Services are also guaranteed in the rush hours from 06.00-09.00 on 27 November.

The strike, which has been called by trade unions protesting plans to privatise Trenitalia, will not affect Rome's Leonardo Express between Termini station and Fiumicino airport.
