Cinema audiences in Italy can look forward to seeing four major shows recorded live from London's National Theatre, from October to January.

The four productions will be screened in their original language with subtitles in Italian and can be viewed in select cinemas across Italy. Each production will be screened for one night only and the participating cinemas in Rome are the UCI Porta di Roma and The Space Parco de' Medici.

The season begins with The Audience, directed by Stephen Daldry with Helen Mirren in the role of Queen Elizabeth II, on 29 October. This is followed on 19 November and 17 December by Macbeth, directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh.

On 10 December it is the turn of Frankenstein directed by Danny Boyle and starring Benedict Cumberbatch, while on 28 January Rory Kinnear stars in Hamlet, directed by Nicholas Hytner.
