Villa Medici in Rome: A Modern Antiquity
8 Nov-1 March. The French Academy in Rome at Villa Medici presents A Modern Antiquity, an exhibition in collaboration with the Louvre in Paris, with a focus on the appropriation of classical Roman antiquity in France.
Over the past five years, the Louvre and Villa Medici have created a research and study partnership, supported by their respective collections and following extensive restoration campaigns.
The exhibition presents works spanning four centuries of acquisitions, from the founding of the French Academy in the 17th century to the present day.
