Since it was founded by Sasha Waltz and Jochen Sandig in Berlin in 1993 more than 150 artists from 25 countries have performed as guests and also produced their own independent pieces. Originally choreographed by Sasha Waltz in 1993, Travelogue I - Twenty to eight has been acclaimed as a contemporary dance classic. Working with a new generation of dancers, Waltz portrays the lives of five room-mates with humour, aggression and sensuality. Taking the door with them, the dancers fall into a house, climb the walls and fight for a position on top of the refrigerator.
