3-24 Feb. This year Rome's annual contemporary dance festival is dedicated to France's contribution to modern dance in the 20th century, as part of a broader programme that each year sees a country chosen as a guest and the main protagonist. The festival includes Bit, one of the latest creations of the Compagnie Maguy Marin; the powerful Les nuits barbares by choreographer Hervé Koubi; and Système Castafiore's magical plastic universe, Théorie des prodiges. In addition the Ballet de l'Ópera de Nice presents two keys works by two celebrated 20th centrury French choreographers: Cantata 51 by Maurice Béjart and L'Arlesienne by Roland Petit.
