S. Cecilia celebrates Bernstein with West Side Story concert in Rome

Antonio Pappano conducts Italy's first concert version of West Side Story in Rome.

12-14 Oct. To mark the centenary of Leonard Bernstein's birth, Antonio Pappano directs the orchestra and chorus of Rome's S. Cecilia in West Side Story, the first concert version of the hugely-successful musical to be performed in Italy. 

The concert will include the much-loved hits Maria, America, Somewhere and Tonight, with the part of Maria sung by Nadine Sierra and the part of Tony sung by Alek Shrader.
