Parsons Dance Company.
11 July 2006. For the Ravenna Festival. Critics have accused the ensemble, the brainchild of David Parsons, a former dancer with the Paul Taylor Company, of being flashy. However, while this is indeed an aspect of the groups work, Parsons is endowed with a dose of innovative theatricality that lends great interest to his work. His excellent group of dancers means an overemphasis on technical virtuosity can somewhat detract from artistic merit.
