3 Oct-3 Nov 2006. A brief but intense dance festival with some great companies. The first on the programme (3-5 Oct) is the legendary Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre with its very own repertoire of classics: Love Stories, Night Creature, Solo and Revelations. Then the Balletto del Teatro di S. Carlo presents The Nutcracker (13-15 Oct); A Svetlana Zacharova Gala features the great Russian ballerina in an evening of famous solos and pas de deux variations (21, 22 Oct); the excellent Ballets de Monte Carlo performs La Belle, choreographer Christophe Maillots iconoclastic version of Sleeping Beauty (27, 28 Oct 2006); and Monte Carlos all male Les Ballets Trockadero performs excerpts from the classical repertoire (2, 3 Nov 2006).
