Ian Bostridge sings Lieder in Rome

Tenor Ian Bostridge performs Britten's song cycle The Heart of the Matter.

The British tenor, Ian Bostridge, sings a programme of Schumann and Schubert Lieder and the Italian premiere of Benjamin Britten's The Heart of the Matter, a song cycle composed in 1956 and set to texts by Edith Sitwell. He is accompanied as usual by Julius Drake on the piano and the Alessio Allegrini on the horn.
