13 May-4 June 2005. A delightful and high-level music festival for lovers of the 17th-century composer who transformed every genre in which he worked. Of course, this festival is not dedicated solely to this much-loved son of Cremona, but embraces the work and personalities of many musicians of Monteverdis time. Special concerts to look out for are those by the Tallis Scholars, the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra and Choir and The Hilliard Ensemble.
