28 Sept 2006. Author, actor and monologist Celestini was born in Rome in 1972. His literary-anthropological studies at university led to a diverse theatrical apprenticeship that included commedia dellarte and mask-making. He mixed these experiences with his own fascination for oral storytelling traditions. In recent years, Celestini has become a celebrity in Italy for his rap-artist-like monologues that combine magic storytelling with anthropological investigations. His texts are often based on hundreds of taped interviews.
