American Academy in Rome

8 May-3 June. Wendy Artin and Seamus Heaney. The American Academy of Rome presents an art exhibition based on "Stone From Delphi", a fine arts letterpress publication featuring the poetry of Irish Nobel Laureate Seamus Heaney, with accompanying watercolours by American artist Wendy Artin. The show takes place during Heaney's stay at the Academy as William B. Hart Poet-in-Residence. Fri-Sun 16.00-19.00.

16 May. Seamus Heaney reads his poems on classical subjects. A public reading, in English, including a poem inspired by the Titian painting Diana and Actaeon of the hunter transformed into a stag and destroyed by his own hounds in punishment for spying on Diana at her bath. 18.00-19.00.
