12 December 2010. The community of the Pontifical Irish College welcomes all to its annual Advent Liturgy followed by Christmas carols on Sunday 12 December.
Those who wait in the customary dimly-lit silence just before 17.00 are rewarded by the distant sound and subsequent arrival of the college's 12-strong choir which slowly processes down the staircase, illuminating the building's corridors with a warm mixture of candle light and song.
The occasion is later made all the more festive with the provision of mulled wine and mince pies. Firmly established on Rome's expat Christmas calendar, this nostalgic event always draws a large crowd, so arrive early. Limited parking is available.
