Visit Baths of Caracalla by the light of the moon.
Rome's majestic Baths of Caracalla will open to visitors for night tours on nine dates between 28 September and 31 October, the city announced on Friday.
The first of the night-time visits is part of the 2024 edition of European Heritage Days which Italy will mark with a nationwide programme of cultural events on the weekend of 28-29 September.
Organised by the special superintendence of Rome, the night tours include areas of the baths complex normally inaccessible to the public, including the underground mithraeum.
Central to the initiative this year will be Lo Specchio, the large reflecting pool unveiled at the ancient site earlier this year.
