9 July-4 Sept 2010. Festival director Stefano Vignati has brought a number of big names in the performing arts to Viterbo in the past few years. However the programme is extremely uneven, and although the festival goes under the name Tuscia Opera Festival opera actually features very marginally with lots of space for pop and jazz concerts and a variety of other events. Symphonic and chamber music are well represented and there are a couple of operas performed in concert form as well as the fully staged Suor Angelica by Puccini. See also Opera. Some names to look out for include pianist and composer Giovanni Allevi, jazz musician Stefano Bollani and dancer Raffaele Paganini. The festival spreads out into province with concerts in Castiglione in Teverina, Civita di Bagnoregio, Montefiascone and Valentano. An exhibition showing 20th-century costumes of heroines from Puccini operas is at the Sala Regia of the Palazzo dei Priori.
