St Patrick’s Day in Rome
As Rome's Irish community and friends of Ireland prepare to don clumps of Shamrock in celebration of St Patrick's Day, a number of Irish cultural events take place in the capital in the lead-up to 17 March.
Andy Irvine, pioneer of Irish bouzouki music and founder of folk music band Planxty, plays a solo concert at the Jailbreak club in Tiburtina on 8 March. The opening act is traditional Irish music group The Shire, from Rome.
