The Lateran Basilica: a conference

19-21 Sept. The British School at Rome hosts The Lateran Basilica, an interdisciplinary conference bringing together experts in archaeology, architecture, art history, history, liturgy and topography to discuss recent research on Rome's Basilica of S. Giovanni in Laterano.
Speakers will address the origins of the site, its topographical context, the building, its history and its decorative scheme up to 1600.
The conference is organised in conjunction with the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome (KNIR). Entry is free but those wishing to attend are asked to register by 18 Sept at lateran.conference@gmail.com.
