17 June-14 Aug 2006. The festival maintains the successful formula of the past years, with 50 evenings of concerts and opera in the beautiful cloister of the Basilica di S. Clemente al Colosseo. For opera lovers the high point of the programme is represented by a production of The Magic Flute by Mozart (17-31 July 2006) with the Orchestra Sinfonica del New Operafestival conducted by Jorge Perez Gomez. Other titles are those of Traviata, Tosca, Bohme, Rigoletto and Elisir dAmore. Consolidating a trend that began a few years ago, the New Operafestival continues its collaboration with other musical institutions, and in particular with the Toscana Opera Festival with a recital on 3 July by the Florentine pianist Giampaolo Muntoni. Other guests include the Antonio Salieri Chamber Orchestra and the Civitavecchia Chamber Orchestra.
