9 Dec 2003-16 Feb 2004. Work by the young Japanese artist, who is strongly influenced by the conceptual artists of the Piazza del Popolo area. The work of this thoughtful Japanese artist is finely considered, whether in compositions of smiling buttons, conglomerations of rough expressionist shapes (the outlines of islands and lakes cut out of geographical maps), blocks of printed sentences or hollowed-out books. Nothing is haphazard. Everything derives from a dry thought process and works as a balance of visual elements. Edith Schloss
