Regarded as one of the most important female dancer/choreographers in flamenco today, Yerbabuena combines the need to take the ancient artform in new directions with a reverence for the flamenco tradition. This approach maintains the purity of the rhythms and lines of flamenco, while marking her out as one of the most exciting figures in the field. In her performances, song, dance, guitar and lyrical poetry are typically unified. Musicians, including three cantaores and a soprano voice, a traditional accompaniment to Yerbabuenas traditional choreography.
