One of the special events at this year's IrishFilmFesta is the screening of the award-winning documentary Atlantean at 17.30 on Thursday 27 March.
The film dismisses the popular Celtic origins of Ireland as myth, proposing instead that the Irish descend from an "Atlantean" culture that includes the western seaboard of Europe and North Africa.
The documentary, produced in 1983 and broadcast by Ireland's national broadcaster RTÉ the following year, has been digitally restored on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.
The film will be introduced by its director Bob Quinn and Dr Barry Monahan of University College Cork (UCC).
It will be screened in its original language version with Italian subtitles, and admission is free.
The IrishFilmFesta takes place from 27-30 March at the Casa del Cinema in the Via Veneto corner of Villa Borghese.
