Rome rejects Beyoncé request to film in Colosseum

Request by Beyoncé and Jay-Z rejected by Italian culture ministry.

A last-minute request by hip hop couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z to film inside the Colosseum was reportedly turned down by Italy's culture ministry as the amphitheatre was already booked by Italian paleontologist and science journalist Alberto Angela.
The American celebrities reportedly sought permission to film inside the Colosseum on 7 and 8 July while in Rome for the their On The Run II tour at the Stadio Olimpico.

The couple recently shot a music video inside the Louvre in Paris however Rome authorities apparently considered their Colosseum request as too short-notice.

The story has led to irony on social media in Rome, with photoshopped images of Beyoncé with Alberto Angela.
