Let there be light
Rome is to get 13,000 new street lamps over the next three years under an ambitious plan drawn up by the city council in conjunction with the municipal energy supplier ACEA. The project, which will cost around 100 million, also includes the replacement of existing lamps with more resistant and environmentally friendly ones, and improving maintenance. It is aimed particularly at peripheral areas, which typically suffer from poor street lighting.
