21 Aug-5 Sept 2008. To promote the rich artistic and cultural patrimony of the upper Tiber valley, the festival has always focused on a different guest country every year. This year the spotlight is on Israel, a nation which is present for the first time in the history of the event. The wide-ranging programme touches on little-known works by Israeli composers of the beginning of the 20th century such as Paul Ben-Haim and Yehezkel Braun, as well as on concerts of traditional music and events featuring big names such as The Israel Chamber Orchestra, Gidon Kremer, Shlomo Mintz and many others. A section dedicated to music and literature features readings from texts by David Grossman and the choreographer and dancer Avi Kaiser presents a new work together with Sergio Antonino.
