Indian festival in Rome

A festival of Indian culture takes place in Rome from 21-29 June. The "Summer Mela" festival features Indian music, photography, dance and conferences.

The event is inspired by the colorful Indian celebrations associated with the summer solstice. In addition it celebrates the launch of FIND India-Europe Foundation of New Dialogues, a foundation dedicated to cultural exchanges between India and Europe.

Among the highlights of the festival is a tribute to sitar genius Ravi Shankar at the MAXXI, a dance performance by the Sadhanam Academy of Kerala at Palazzo Rospigliosi, and a conference in English about the body.
