Festival Puccini.
18 July-23 Aug 2003. The damp but romantic setting beside the lake near Puccinis house comes alive with a host of favourites: La Bohme, Madama Butterfly, Turandot and Manon Lescaut. Although singers complain that the humidity wreaks havoc with their vocal chords, there is a good line-up of artists for this much-loved opera festival, one of the oldest in Italy.
