Oscar-winning film director Paolo Sorrentino is casting Italian and international extras in Rome for his new film The Young Pope, at Cinecittà studios on 5, 6 and 7 March, from 10.00-20.00.
The casting is open to men and women of all nationalities, aged between 18 and 85.
The film is centered around an imaginary pope, the first Italian-American pontiff in history, and the story takes place in the present day between Vatican City, Italy, the US and Africa.
The project, which will filmed in eight 50-minute parts, will be directed entirely by Sorrentino and first will have a trial run as a series on television. It is a coproduction with the US and its executive producer is John Lyons.
