Alvin Curran at the Baths of Caracalla in Rome
23 Oct-13 Jan. Alvin Curran's sound installation Omnia Flumina Romam Ducunt (All Rivers Lead to Rome) will fill the Baths of Caracalla from 09.00-18.30, every day except Sunday, until 13 January.
The installation features the long-lost sounds of rivers and running water, fragments of voices speaking in Latin, texts from Ancient Roman poets as well as the noises of exotic wild animals, all projected from 20 speakers hidden among the ruined bath complex.
Curran, a pioneer of Sound Art, is a long-term Rome resident. For full details of his installation see the Italian culture ministry website.
