Starbucks to open near Vatican Museums in Rome

Starbucks expected to launch in Vatican area of Rome in September 2019.

Starbucks is to open an outlet in Rome near the Vatican Museums, at an as-yet unidentified location, according to reports in local media.

The US-based chain of coffee shops is expected to launch in the Vatican area in September, with plans to open a second store in Rome, either in Piazza di Spagna or at Termini station.

The launch of the American coffee chain in the capital follows the opening of three Starbucks stores in Milan last year.
