Rome schools closed for a second day over snow

City closes all Rome schools on Tuesday 27 February due to snow warning.

Rome schools will be closed on Tuesday 27 February due to an ongoing snow alert, according to Italian news agency ANSA.

The measure, which takes effect for the second day in a row, will affect all Rome schools including kindergartens.

The city said the decision was taken based on a forecast of continuing frost and a significant drop in temperature.

On 26 February the army was drafted in to clear snow from Rome's streets after the capital woke up to a snowfall of around 10 centimetres.
