Rome mural of Raggi with beer bottle

Rome street art in response to alcohol ban in S. Lorenzo.

A mural depicting Rome mayor Virginia Raggi with a beer bottle in hand appeared on Via dei Dalmati in the city's S. Lorenzo district on 27 March.

The image, signed by street artist Fulcro, is believed to be in response to the alcohol restrictions introduced by the mayor in S. Lorenzo following the tragic death of 16-year-old Desirée Mariottini last October.

The legislation prohibits the outdoor consumption and takeaway sale of alcohol after 21.00 in S. Lorenzo and other districts associated with Roman nightlife. The ban remains in place until 26 April.
