Rome Film Fest: Hollywood comes to Rome

Hollywood stars and world premieres at Rome Film Fest.

The 2019 Rome Film Fest, which kicks off in the Italian capital on 17 October, features a plethora of big names from US cinema including Bill Murray, Edward Norton, John Travolta, Wes Andersen, Viola Davis and Ethan Coen.

Now in its 14th year, the festival features almost 40 films in its official selection and will open at the city's Auditorium Parco della Musica with Edward Norton's Motherless Brooklyn.

Highlights this year include the screening of Martin Scorsese's The Irishman, starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, and the British period drama Downton Abbey by Michael Engler.

There is a special focus on music, with a programme including the Pavorotti documentary directed by Ron Howard, and the biopic Judy starring Renée Zellweger as Judy Garland.

There are also numerous public talks with Hollywood A-listers, and movies for kids, with events taking place at the Auditorium Parco della Musica and various other venues from 17-27 October.
