Romans asked not to throw out trash during strike

AMA Roma appeals to Romans' public spirit.

Rome residents have been urged not to throw out any garbage on Friday 25 October, the day of a general strike, by the city's waste collection company AMA Roma.

Appealing to the "civic sense and the collaboration of all Romans", AMA has asked Rome residents to avoid a situation in which the city's bins become "overloaded" on Friday.

Instead it has asked Romans to hold on to their trash and dump it on Saturday when the garbage collection resumes.
