La Scalas new boss.
Stphane Lissner, has been appointed as the new superintendent at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in place of Mauro Mieli. Lissner, who is French, has been artistic director of the Aix-en-Provence Festival and the Vienna Festival Week, as well as co-director, with Peter Brook, of the Teatro des Bouffes du Nord in Paris. It is hoped that this new appointment will bring some order to the Teatro alla Scala after the last turbulent weeks although the musical director, to replace Riccardo Muti, has yet to be appointed.
