Piazza S. Silvestro has never been a place to linger long, perhaps just long enough to jump on a bus or post a letter. It is difficult to think of any other square in the historic centre with so few attractions. Most guidebooks give it only a few lines and then only to mention the 8th-century church of S. Silvestro in Capite and the general post office. There is one bar; there are no restaurants and only a few shops. It is a place everyone knows, everyone uses and no one notices
