This famous arts festival in the beautiful Umbrian town of Spoleto promises to deliver the goods with a rich programme of opera, music, drama, dance and art. Continuing under the direction of Giorgio Ferrara who took over from the Menotti family after the death of festival founder, the composer Gian Carlo Menotti, there is a strong accent on contemporary realities, and this is underscored by the choice of Benjamin Britten
