11-15 Feb 2004. The Auditorium-Parco della Musica is staging a Scandinavian Festival from Wed 11-Sun 15 Feb featuring music, design, literature, theatre, cinema, sports and food. The 1921 Swedish film classic "Il carretto fantasma" ("The Phantom Chariot") by director Victor Sjostrom will be shown, accompanied by the Matti Bye Ensemble orchestra. Music will be performed by Finnish composer Kimmo Pohjonen, Norwegian vocalist Rebekka Bakken, and Norwegian experimental jazz ensemble Supersilent, among others. One of the literature events will be dedicated to the fairy tales of Hans Christian Andersen, and there will be an exhibition of work by naturalist photographer Hannu Hautala of Finland. Children will be invited to visit a reconstruction of Pippy Longstockings house, and work by Danish designer Nanna Ditzel will be on show from Wed 11 Feb-Sun 7 March.
