21, 23, 25, 26 Feb 2006. Conducted by Patrick Fournillier, directed by Paul Curran, with Walter Fraccaro, Vladimir Stoyanov and Sondra Radvanovsky.

The Teatro delle Muse di Ancona closes its operatic season with Il Trovatore by Giuseppe Verdi (21, 23, 25 and 26 Feb). This too is a masterpiece of Italian musical romanticism that fires the spirit with passionate melodies, ablaze with untameable fires, but also with very sweet and yearning love songs. The production was seen in Bologna last April and is directed by Paul Curran. The conducting is entrusted to Patrick Fournillier. The principal singers are Walter Fraccaro (Manrico), Vladimir Stoyanov (Il Conte di Luna), Marianne Cornetti (Azucena) and Sondra Radvanovsky (Leonora), who is the star of the Met in New York: in Italy she has already sung in Florence and Verona in smaller companies, but she now appears in a lead role with a principal cast.
